Book Review: Rework by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson
Rework is the latest release from the founders of 37Signals
, the company responsible for Basecamp, Ruby on Rails, and a plethora of other tools. These guys know the start up scene inside out and backwards, they know project management through and through, and from their repeated successes it sure seems like they know how to build a healthy, enjoyable work environment. Working from home
For the last ten months give or take I’ve been working 100% from home. The company I work for has no physical office. Everyone works remotely. Although it started out of a small office space above the People’s Food Co-op in Ann Arbor it has been several years since there was an actual office. After my last job which involved a 45 minute each way commute to Southfield this change of pace was welcome. Now that I’ve been doing this for a while I still love it, although now I have the full picture and know that it’s not without draw backs.
